Svegro brings Greek basil to Sweden

Swedish grower Svegro is expanding its product range this year with Greek basil. The basil will be available in March in a number of stores. The flavor is a little milder than that of ordinary basil and goes well with tomatoes, feta, mozzarella or ricotta cheese.

Svegro has been based in Färingsö since 1960, near Stockholm, and has 90 employees. Svegro grows organic herbs and lettuce varieties and packages organic vegetables and potatoes throughout the year. In addition, a great deal of attention is paid to the development of new products. The turnover amounts to 35 million euros per year.
