Import Promotion Desk brings exporters from seven developing countries to trade fair

Strawberries and blueberries will be highlights at the national stand of Ethiopia at this year's Fruit Logistica, in Berlin. The exhibitors from Ethiopia are bringing a large variety of berries to the fair, such as the San Andreas, Sweet Ann and Montery strawberries. Due to the climatic conditions, berries in Ethiopia can be grown all year round, and they remain of high quality. Other products, such as beans, physalis, prickly pears or mangetouts are also shown by the African Ethiopian Horticulture Producers Exporters Association (EHPEA), organized with support from the Import Promotion Desk (IPD). The German partner for import promotion also presents exporters from Egypt, Ecuador, Colombia, Mozambique, Peru and Tunisia and a wide range of regional products.

From pineapple to lychees
Exotic fruits are a focus of exporters from Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mozambique: they bring, for example, Hass avocados, mangoes and Tahitian limes from Colombia to the Fruit Logistica. A producer from Ecuador specializes in mango cultivation and offers four different mango varieties. In addition to this, a very special dragon fruit from Ecuador, the Amazon Pitahaya, comes from Palora. Granadillas, organic pineapples and baby bananas are among the Peruvian producers' offerings. Mozambique's papayas and lychees complement the IPD's wide range of exotic offerings.

The nine Egyptian companies that the IPD brings together with European importers at Fruit Logistica, will present green beans, spring onions and fresh garlic, as well as strawberries, grapes and pomegranates. A special feature of Egypt's offer are edible organic flowers. Figs, dates and artichokes are offered by exhibitors from Tunisia.
