Dutch company, Sarco Packaging BV is one of Ilapak International's dealers. In the fresh fruit and vegetable industry, ILAPAK has installed more than a thousand vertical packaging lines. Many of these have ultrasonic sealing or closing systems. The ultrasonic systems are mounted on intermittent as well continuously working vertical flow packets.
ILAPAK has been collaborating with the German company, Herrmann Ultraschal for more than ten years. This longstanding partnership proves their leadership in the market.
Ultrasonic sealing uses less energy that traditional sealing systems. Tangible savings can, therefore, be achieved. This sealing method has a major environmental impact. The reduction of the machine's CO2 footprint is estimated to be 1.800 kg CO₂ per ton of film.
In the past two years, ILAPAK and Sarco Packaging have realized enormous growth in the fresh fruit and vegetable market. Business in this sector rose from 19% of Ilapak's sales in 2016 to 35% in 2018. Twenty-seven percent of this is in machines used to package salads and other leaf products. The rest is lines used for fresh cut fruit, potatoes, carrots and so on.

There has been continuous attempts to improve the quality of and find new solutions for, the production industry. This has led to the new intermittent machine type, Vegatronic 2300 OF Sanitary Design. Then there is also the upcoming continuous running Vegatronic 6400. This machine makes it possible to use a new, enlarged ultrasonic sealing system for packaging widths of up to 335 mm.

At the upcoming Fruit Logistica, ILAPAK will present its latest developments for Ultrasonic sealing. The new ILAPAK Vegatronic 2300 OF is available in an IP65 or IP66 version. It is characterized by high performance, a hygienic design, and a small environmental footprint.
This packaging machine has an open frame design. This frame offers easy access to all the machine's parts for cleaning and maintenance. There are no voids where dirt can gather.
It is designed with a low product drop height and fully incorporates servomotors. These features are combined with vacuum-supported film belts. This intermittent packaging machine, therefore, offers unrivaled performance on the full range of vertical packaging machines. These include pillowpack packaging, block bottom bags, and Quattro and Pouch packaging.
