For the Gruppo Mazzoni, organic represents a growing sector that complete its product range. The company has 20 years of experience in this project. At first, it was a bet, but now it is giving very positive and promising results.

Marta Migliari is responsible for the organic marketing, “Veritas Biofrutta is the Gruppo Mazzoni’s organic branch. We firmly believe that the organic production system is the most advanced of the Italian agri-food sector. That is why the company invested and believed in this project for 20 years”.
Numbers are clear: in the last 5 years, the company has been growing by 20% every year. In the last semester of 2017, the revenue increased by 25% and the volumes by 18%.
“The sales channels are Italy (30%) and Europe (70%). These are the most recent data available (first semester of 2018). The main produce is carrots, apples, kiwis, pears and citrus fruits”.
Additionally, there are other references that are growing within the organic sector. First of all, the brassicas such as kohlrabi, broccoli and cauliflower. The produce is tripled for these vegetables in the first half of 2018.
In the short period, we are expecting to increase the Hayward kiwi production – which reached 2.000 tons in 2017. The productive base is constituted by 100 organic companies. The Mazzoni Group markets its organic produce under the Verybio brand.
