This year, prices of most Ukrainian fruit are lower than in the past. This is due to the fact that this season we are having more favourable weather conditions for crop growth: high temperatures, followed by the rains. Great harvests always lead to lower prices for seasonal fruit and vegetables. There can be some variation: for example if in the Odessa region there is too much rain and growers cannot harvest, prices could jump up by about 20%. But the price rise of this fruit is not expected until the end of August.
In September, imported grapes will be found on the shelves of Ukrainian supermarkets. Then, Ukraine will have to import more grapes, and on the shelves there will be more and more grapes from other countries, like Turkey or Moldova. This will affect the pricing. If grapes can be bought for 25 UAH/kg now, in September they will cost 35-40 UAH/kg.
