The Greenery
Orange, yellow and brown vine tomatoes available again
Yellow, orange and brown vine tomatoes are available at The Greenery again. These are cultivated under illumination by Peter Enthoven from Kwintsheul, the Netherlands. Thanks to illuminated cultivation, The Greenery can supply coloured tomatoes throughout the winter.
The yellow, orange and brown vine tomatoes have a special and more exclusive character than their better-known red counterparts because of their noticeable, natural colour. They add a sunny colour accent to all meals. The tomatoes taste fresh, and are juicy. The vine tomatoes are available in boxes of 5 and 2.5 kilograms. Flowpack or click-punnet packaging are also available, on demand.
“Last year, we started the cultivation of brown vine tomatoes. Based on experiences from previous seasons, we decided to fill this season with a different strain. The new strain is stronger, qualitatively, and has finer fruits,” says Jesper van Oostende.
In addition, Peter Enthoven cultivates the rougher San Mazzo tomato and the Papeletto vine cocktail tomato in the winter. The San Mazzo is ideal for making pasta sauces. The Papeletto, however, is ideal for stuffing.
