Canada: Houweling’s announces hiring of greenhouse sales veteran

With increased year-round, BC grown tomato production, Houweling’s has hired industry veteran Kevin Batt to join its Delta, BC farm operation. With over 13 years’ experience, Batt is familiar with the Houweling’s brand from earlier in his career at BC Hot House and Oppy, and now will be representing the brand directly for the farm.
“I am excited for Kevin to join our team,” notes Casey Houweling. “It was important to me that we bring someone with extensive greenhouse experience, who knows our business, our customers and can hit the ground running.”

When asked about joining Houweling’s Tomatoes, Batt says, “I’m excited at the opportunity to join the team at Houweling’s and be a part of growing this exceptionally well recognized brand.” Asked about what enticed him to join Houweling’s, he notes, “Having worked with Casey before, I’m most excited to feed off the energy and passion he exudes, while bringing that same passion to new and established relationships.”

Craig Laker Director of Sales out of Houweling’s Camarillo, California office comments, “It will be an easy transition for our customers from me to Kevin. I’m thrilled to pass the Canadian sales baton to him, allowing me to offer greater focus on our California sales and procurement operation.”

Kevin will officially join Houweling’s on November 25, 2013.
