Canada: Nature Fresh educates public on greenhouse growing at fair

Nature Fresh used this year's Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Ontario, Canada, to teach attendees a bit about the inner-workings of growing produce in a greenhouse. The fair started at the start of the month and will run through November 10.

“With the support of our sister company, South Essex Fabrications, we built a miniature-sized working greenhouse,” said Ray Wowryk, director of business development for Nature Fresh. “We want to help educate the general public about what greenhouse farming is all about.” The fully functional greenhouse has many of the features present in the new generation of high-tech greenhouses.

The Royal Fair is the largest combined indoor agricultural fair and international equestrian competition in the world, and it features over one million square feet of displays and competition facilities. Nature Fresh will display their mini greenhouse in Direct Energy Hall B throughout the run of the Royal Fair, where over 300,000 visitors are expected to attend.
