Photo report: Vietnam dragon fruit farm and packing house

Vietnam is a major producer of dragon fruit. The fruit was imported into Vietnam 50 years ago and has recently become one of Vietnam's biggest export fruits. In the first half of 2015, 900,00 tons of dragon fruit have been exported, of which 50% was destined to the US.

China is the biggest overall fruit and vegetable export market, accounting for 35% of total fruit and vegetable export. Chinese demand for dragon fruit is rising. Currently, dragon fruit makes up 60% of all fruit export to China.

The majority of dragon fruit is produced in the South of the country, in the Mekong River Delta
