Interfel back in Madrid with “Le Tour Frais”

Once again this year, France is demonstrating all of its agri-export potential at Fruit Attraction in Madrid. The French delegation is comprised of a total of 112 companies which will cover more than 2,200 m2 in hall 6 at the IFEMA fairgrounds.

With its participation, the fresh fruit and vegetable interprofessional association Interfel is reinforcing its presence with more exhibition space and a full schedule of activities. “The fair has grown and our presence has also. For our members, it’s an opportunity to meet with
customers while it’s a time for Interfel to spread more awareness for our fresh fruits and vegetables and continue the debate with our European Union colleagues. Thus, Fruit Attraction is a key date with a dual objective: a commercial one for our companies and a political one for our organization,” says Daniel Soares, International Director of Interfel.

“Le Tour Frais” is the Interfel proposal for this edition: A phase-by-phase journey in the purest Tour de France style with a stop at each of the 14 member stands. By scanning the QR code found at each stand, trade visitors may enter the draw for the grand prize: a trip for two to Paris.

“Le Tour Frais” is also a reference to the emblematic Interfel Eiffel Tower made with fresh fruits and vegetables that will once again stand tall over this exhibit space.

Blue Whale, El collectivo Demain la Terre, Dunkerke Port, Edenys, FDA International, Fruidor, Harmonie, Innatis, Interfel, MyLord, Nergi, Oscar Kiwi, Prince de Bretagne and Saveol are all on the list of companies coming to Fruit Attraction 2023 with Interfel.

The interprofessional association’s hall will also feature an open kitchen where chef Charles Soussin will offer little fruit and vegetable-based delicacies every day made with typical recipes from different French regions. Plus, the culinary influencer and Masterchef
ambassador, Celeste García de la Banda, will be accompanying the French chef for a show cooking session to officially open the hall on Tuesday, 3rd October at 11:30 a.m.

“We trust that this edition—our 13th time at Fruit Attraction—will be quite successful for all our members. We’re convinced that the freshness, quality and variety of our fruits and vegetables will delight all trade visitors who stop by to taste them in our area,” concludes
Soares.

The exporting power of France
France is the fourth largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the European Union behind Spain, Italy and Poland. In 2022, French exports of fresh fruits and vegetables exceeded 2,128,000 tonnes with the EU as their main destination. Nearly 23% of all French vegetables
and up to 30% of the country’s fruit production is exported. French apples are also sent to countries in the Middle East, Asia and South America.
