Although American fresh blueberries are not allowed to enter China yet, a programme lobbying for formal market access is on its way. A new series of meetings with officials of the Chinese AQSIQ will take place in December, and Chinese inspectors are expected to visit some of the orchards next year. Meanwhile the fruit is sent to Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Joy Wing Mau's stand was fully occupied almost throughout the exhibition. This year the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Its Joyvio fruit brand is one of the stronger fruit brands in China, enabling the company to give premium returns to its blueberry and durian growers.
