Organic supermarket chain Ekoplaza is disappearing from the Belgian streetscape. Its seven stores will continue under the name Färm, which already has a stronger position in the country. "By operating under a single brand throughout Belgium, we can communicate the organic story more clearly and finally realise our ambition. Organic deserves a place in the retail landscape", Retail Director Alexis Descampe explains.

REWE Group Austria has acquired 21 Unimarkt stores in Upper Austria, Styria and Lower Austria for an undisclosed amount. The deal is subject to approval from the Federal Competition Authority (BWB) and the Federal Cartel Prosecutor. SPAR Austria announced the takeover of 23 Unimarkt locations on 20 November.

US: Amazon to deliver essentials, groceries in 30 minutes in parts of Seattle, Philadelphia
Amazon.com said it is testing ultra-fast delivery of household essentials and fresh groceries in parts of Seattle and Philadelphia, as the company doubles down on efforts to grow its domestic footprint. The service, called "Amazon Now", will deliver items including milk, eggs, fresh produce and electronics, in about 30 minutes or less, the company said in a blog.

US: Costco sues Trump admin seeking tariff refunds before Supreme Court rules if they're illegal
Costco filed a lawsuit asking for a full refund of tariffs the warehouse club giant has paid since President Donald Trump imposed "reciprocal" and "fentanyl" tariffs earlier this year. Costco's suit in the U.S. Court of International Trade notes that it might not be able to get the refunds later, even if the Supreme Court upholds lower court rulings that the tariffs are illegal.
