In a statement, Bird said the reappointments come at a time when the organisation is working under its 2024–2026 strategy. She noted that the strategy outlines priorities for supporting Australian horticulture in areas such as climate variability, trade conditions, and shifts in consumer expectations.

According to Bird, the Board's focus remains on planning for industry needs and on maintaining a coordinated approach to research and development. She said she aims to continue in the role of Chair while working with Said and other Board members.
Vydra, who has also been re-elected, continues his tenure with experience in horticulture innovation. Bird said his re-election reflects support for continuity as the organisation works through its next phase.
