“The timing is ideal to connect on summer programs and fall forecasting”

"The OPS is a great show. It is a distillation of the key industry leaders and decision makers without all the distraction of the large shows. It is short and impactful and allows for very focused interactions in a couple of very packed days," says Ben Johnson, President of Bridges Produce when asked about Bridges attendance at the OPS show next month in Monterey.

The company has been on a mission to further organic agriculture since its founding over twenty years ago. This beautifully aligns with the OPS as it is 100 percent focused on the organic produce sector and works to bring together organic focused businesses from across the supply chain. The optimal timing of the OPS is also ideal for talking summer programs as well as planning for the busy upcoming fall season.

Blueberries
"July is National Blueberry Month and a perfect time to feature domestic organic blueberries! We will be offering large pack styles throughout July from Oregon and Washington and would love to connect. OPS is a fabulous opportunity to connect with the organic industry at such a concise and concentrated event," said Michael McMillan, Blueberry program lead.

Potatoes
In the weeks following the OPS, Bridges' first new crop potatoes of the season will begin. "Our organic potato grower, Bouchey Potatoes from Wapato, WA starts in mid-July. They are a grower/shipper of organic russet, red, yellow, baby and fingerling potatoes. We are happy to discuss program opportunities with willing buyers," commented Kurt Jacobs, Potato program lead.

It is also prime time for discussing the upcoming fall season. Bridges has a robust and diverse organic fall program including NW apples, pears, onions and potatoes, and an extensive Mexican row crop program featuring hard squash, summer squash, cucumbers, eggplant, and peppers. The OPS comes at a time when there is some flexibility on crop plans and it is the ideal time to talk packing plans to accommodate new customers and new program business.

Five members of the Bridges Team, representing a wide variety of product categories, will be in attendance so come by and visit booth #724!
