A giant huntsman spider from Africa startled staff at a primary school in Croydon, London, after jumping out of a box of bananas shipped from Ivory Coast. The spider, a juvenile Heteropoda venatoria, was caught by spider-enthusiast staff members amid the chaos. The huntsman, known for its size, spanned six centimeters. The Natural History Museum confirmed its identity after initial Google searches.
