Part 1: Daniela Sternal from B.i.Team on Freshfin:

"The specialized ERP solution for the fruit wholesale trade"

Certificates, proofs, sustainability balances - to keep track, more and more companies are implementing ERP systems (Enterprise-Resource-Planning). B.i.Team, a strategic partner for business applications, offers an ERP solution specifically for the fruit wholesale trade. "Our clients span the entire spectrum of the fruit wholesale market and are represented in all market forms. These include companies such as Behr, Pfalzmarkt, Landgard, lehmann natur, Arus, Kölla, Agropa, Möss, Wegener, WeserBio, Rosenbaum, Blaser Obst and many more, where we have successfully implemented Freshfin. This year, we have already managed three real starts and several system updates," reports Daniela Sternal, Account Manager Freshfin.

"Freshfin is the special ERP solution for the fruit wholesale trade," says Sternal. "It runs on the basis of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and combines all the functions that fruit wholesalers need along the value chain. At B.i.Team, we develop the industry-specific functions in-house. The technology and finance area is provided by Microsoft in the base solution. This allows us to focus on the requirements and functions for the fruit wholesale trade. Key features of Freshfin include the traceability of batches and positions, the production area with packing and sorting, and of course the area of food safety. This is covered by the functional areas of supplier evaluation, residue monitoring, and quality management."

Maintaining certification information
"Fruit wholesalers can maintain certification information in Freshfin. This ensures in their daily work that the goods have the certifications demanded by customers from the retail and wholesale food industry," she explains the relief that the system can provide. "Furthermore, the two-stage certification management in Freshfin ensures that fruit wholesalers can only deliver predefined goods from certain producers to their customers."

"A typical and frequent use case is, for example, when only QS goods from certain producers are allowed to be delivered through a supplier to a retail customer. All these fine settings are made by fruit wholesalers in Freshfin, so that the entire supply chain including logistics meets the requirements. This ensures safe and correct deliveries. In addition, the integrated quality control in Freshfin comes into play at goods receipt and goods issue: It ensures food safety. At the same time, fruit wholesalers can quickly report complaints on the goods receipt side. On the goods issue side, this reduces the proportion of complaints for the wholesaler."

Support during Implementation
Fruit wholesalers looking to implement Freshfin are supported by B.i.Team, according to Sternal. "When introducing Freshfin, we advise and support our customers in all areas where the ERP system is applicable. This ranges from consulting on master data and the design of the overall use of the system to joint tests and training and support during the critical real start phase. We ensure a well-thought-out and functioning introduction throughout the company."

"One aspect we place particular emphasis on is involving the employees and supporting them in their daily business. After all, the introduction of Freshfin takes place alongside their business. For ongoing support, customers can access our helpline with first-level support. And the project consultants and developers continue to provide their expertise. With this combination, we also precisely support our customers with further topics and requirements. In this context, I advise our customers on the commercial and market side. Collaboration and customer satisfaction are very important to us, and that our customers derive the optimal benefit from the entire system for themselves."

Essential functions
"As the first noticeable results, our customers often mention a significant relief in their workload, efficiency gains, time savings, reduction of errors, and of course the improved digitalization of processes. Many functions, imposed by the legislator and serving food safety, are even considered 'essential to life'. Lately, we often hear that customers appreciate being able to use Freshfin mobile and from all over the world. Just checked the current available stock of a specific item on the laptop at the customer or supplier's location - and the order can be placed right there and then."

"With Freshfin, expanding, extending, and interlocking in the supply chain can be easily solved. Whether it involves additional customers, new suppliers, or the use of current technologies. Even a business model change can be facilitated and supported through the respective setup in Freshfin. This ensures investment security - and experienced users appreciate this particularly."

"Freshfin has been continuously developed on the current version of Business Central since 1999 and follows the roadmap of Microsoft. This is future security that we guarantee. Freshfin users can trade more goods safely and reliably, thus continuously expanding their business. At any time, data such as prices and availabilities in Freshfin are visible and up to date," Sternal concludes.
