Greenhouse grower expands with 32 acres in California

Mucci Farms, a Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) grower, announces its continued expansion with the addition of a 32-acre greenhouse in Tehachapi, California. This marks another step in the company's strategy to enhance production capabilities and ensure accessibility to fresh produce across North America. In partnership with Cox Farms, a business entity of Cox Enterprises focused on greenhouse-grown food and agriculture, Mucci Farms is scaling operations to meet the growing demand for its products on the West Coast.

"Our focus has always been about expanding access and providing additional support and resources to our retail partners across the continent," said Bert Mucci, CEO of Mucci Farms. "Our goal is to continue to scale operations to offer partners a national supply of greenhouse-grown fruits and vegetables."

"We are committed to helping families access locally grown fruits and vegetables," said Steve Bradley, president of Cox Farms. "Together with Mucci Farms, we aim to drive positive change in the industry while delivering on our promise of quality and environmental responsibility."

This latest expansion into south-central California follows Mucci Farms' entry into the region with its Camarillo facility in 2021. The company's presence now extends across key locations in the United States and Canada, including its U.S. headquarters in Huron, Ohio, which features a 72-acre greenhouse. It also has distribution hubs in San Antonio, Texas, and Romulus, Michigan. Additionally, on the West Coast, Mucci Farms operates facilities in Camarillo, California, and Delta, British Columbia.

Mucci Farms remains steadfast in its mission to minimize food miles and champion environmentally conscious practices. Through strategic partnerships and investments in regional production facilities, the company continues to help pave the way for a more resilient food system.
