Aamiya Fresh Farms grow mangoes in Uttarpradesh in the north of India. Here the season runs from May to August.
India has seen some quite extreme weather, in recent months but according to Ishant Saini from Aamiya Fresh Farms, this has not affected the mango production in that region.
"We grow the mango varieties Chausa, Dusheri, Langra for the fresh market and many other different varieties which are suitable for pickles. We also grow green chili, baby corn and potatoes."
"We have a 1000 tonnes of Mango, and are planning to export 100 tonnes this year. At the moment, we export to Dubai and the UK. Airfreight rates are very high just now, so we also send fruit by sea. We are looking to expand our export markets to countries such as Europe, Japan and the US."
