Kyrgyzstan's cabinet subsidizes transport for onion and potato exports

The Cabinet of Ministers in Kyrgyzstan has passed a resolution to subsidize transportation expenses for exporting onions and potatoes, as stated by the Minister of Economy and Commerce, Daniyar Amangeldiev, during a parliamentary session focused on agrarian policy, water resources, ecology, and regional development.

Amangeldiev highlighted that this initiative comes in the wake of opening sales of these vegetables to Uzbekistan, with a financial allocation of 160 million soms (€1,600,000) aimed at covering the transport subsidies. It is pertinent to mention that up to 20 percent of the total vegetable production is eligible for export under this scheme.
