Marlborough company recognized for innovating NZ hi-tech agriculture

In New Zealand, The Smart Machine Company, based in Marlborough, has been recognized as the Most Innovative Hi-Tech Agriculture Solution at the NZ Hi-Tech Awards. The accolade was bestowed for their development of the Oxin, an autonomous, multitasking robotic tractor. This marks the company's second nomination as a finalist.

The Smart Machine Company's Oxin is an autonomous viticulture vehicle, capable of mulching, herbicide spraying, mowing, and more.

Competing in the same category was another Marlborough entity, Southern Water Engineering, noted for its automated vineyard spray mixing process. The event's highest honor, Company of the Year, was awarded to Rocket Lab, acknowledging its pivotal role in the burgeoning space economy, which contributes significantly to the national economy.
