"Our products are carefully sourced and grown to ensure unsurpassed freshness and quality. We are proud to offer the world our exotic fruits under our motto 'All Year, All Natural'. "What sets us apart is our commitment to providing a consistent supply of these tropical fruits throughout the year. This is made possible by the unique geographical advantage of Indonesia's vast archipelago, which allows us to tap into different climates and regions to ensure continuous production. Our commitment to quality, sustainability and innovation drives us to deliver an unparalleled experience to consumers around the world. Whether it's the exotic allure of the mangosteen or the creamy richness of the durian, each Java Fresh fruit embodies the essence of tropical indulgence, inviting consumers to enjoy nature's bounty in its purest form."

Java Fresh has an extensive network of partnerships with thousands of farmers throughout the Indonesian archipelago and ensure that their products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

"We are seeing different preferences for exotic fruits in our various markets. While the mangosteen remains the most popular fruit among our customers, we've seen a growing demand for other rare and exotic fruits in certain regions. For example, the German market has proven to be particularly adventurous, showing a strong interest in Indonesian specialties such as tombong and kopyor coconuts, Indonesian durian and salacca gula pasir. These fruits offer unique flavors and textures that appeal to the discerning palates of German consumers. We pride ourselves on catering to the evolving tastes of each market and continuously expand our product offering to ensure a diverse selection of tropical delights tailored to the demands of each region," explains Swasti.

Commitment to cultivating relationships
Java Fresh sources its fruit by combining their own orchards with partnerships with thousands of smallholder farmers across Indonesia. Since setting up the company in 2014 they have not only built a successful business but have also been able to nurture a community of growers and empower women in rural areas of Indonesia.

"This commitment has led us to cultivate relationships with buyers and partners worldwide who share our values. These partnerships have been instrumental in addressing challenges faced by small growers in Indonesia, including securing funding for international certifications, solving cold chain issues, and improving post-harvest methods. Today, we are collaborating with exceptional exotic fruit importers, wholesalers, and retailers around the world who are equally committed to overcoming these challenges. We believe that this collaborative and empowering approach is key to our success as one the leading suppliers of exotic fruits from Indonesia to Europe."

Java Fresh has a diverse client base that spans various sectors within the fruit industry. Their partnerships extend to retailers, importers, and wholesalers, depending on the specific requirements and preferences of each market.

"In some countries, we collaborate closely with retailers to ensure our fruits reach consumers directly, offering them the opportunity to experience the freshness and quality of our products firsthand. In other regions, we work with importers who specialize in sourcing and distributing exotic fruits to meet the demand of local markets. Additionally, we have established strong relationships with wholesalers who play a crucial role in distributing our fruits to a wide network of retailers and foodservice providers. This multi-faceted approach allows us to effectively serve the diverse needs of our clients while ensuring that our premium tropical fruits are readily available to consumers worldwide."

Significant shifts in demand for other exotic fruits
While the mangosteen remains Java Fresh's flagship product, constituting over 70% of their total assortment, there has been significant shifts in demand for other exotic fruits in recent years. Particularly interesting are the spikes in demand for tombong coconut, kopyor coconut, Indonesian local durian and salacca gula pasir. These fruits have attracted increased attention from consumers, suggesting a growing curiosity about the diverse range of exotic fruits from Indonesia.

"The pandemic appears to have played a significant role in fueling this trend, as consumers seek out new and healthy alternatives of foods that suit their lifestyle. As a result, we've seen an increased interest in these unique fruits, reflecting evolving consumer preferences and a desire for exploration and discovery.

Expanding markets
At Java Fresh, we are focused on expanding our market reach and strengthening our presence in several key regions. We are particularly interested in increasing our exports to the Middle East, Eastern European countries and North America. These regions offer significant growth potential and strategic opportunities to introduce our premium tropical fruits to new consumers. By targeting these markets, we aim to capitalize on emerging consumer trends, meet the growing demand for exotic fruits, and build lasting partnerships with retailers, importers, and wholesalers.

The recent troubles in the Red Sea have indeed affected our operations, particularly in terms of freight logistics. As the majority of our products are shipped by air, the disruptions in the region have led to a significant increase in demand for freight space, which in turn has driven up freight rates. While we have been able to manage these challenges thus far, the increase in freight costs has undoubtedly put pressure on our pricing strategy. As a result, we have had to carefully manage the balance between maintaining competitive pricing for our customers and effectively managing our operating costs. Despite these challenges, we remain committed to ensuring the timely delivery of our premium tropical fruit to our valued customers worldwide."
