Nomi Karniel-Padan, Grapa Varieties:

“Our ARRA™ Red Factor table grapes dazzled Berlin”

Earlier this month the shelves of the ARRA stand in Berlin presented fresh grapes in abundance, from Brazil, South Africa and for the first time from India. Nomi Karniel-Padan, Grapa Varieties' Commercial Director, proudly shares: "The very early ARRA Honey Pop™ from South Africa garnered special attention from many show attendees, while our ARRA Red Factor table grapes dazzled Berlin. Fair visitors came especially to the stand asking to see and taste the early-mid ARRA Fire Crunch™ and the mid-late ARRA Cherry Crush™ that have created a buzz in the industry as game changing varieties."

Fresh Grapes from around the world were on display and available for tasting at the ARRA stand at Fruit Logistica Berlin.

Over the past few months, ARRA Fire Crunch has generated great interest among growers and importers, especially while witnessing the results achieved globally throughout the different growing regions. The variety stands out with its unique, irresistible, fire-red colour and extreme crunchiness says Karniel-Padan.

"At the expo, ARRA Cherry Crush, was a real showstopper, with increasing commercial availability from Brazil paving the way for the other regions, soon to follow. The variety boasts an intense, cherry-colour, elongated berries, as well as an excellent sugar-acid balance and a sensational crunch. This unique blend of qualities delighted our stand visitors, offering an appealing combination of appearance, taste, and an enjoyable eating experience."

Karniel-Padan, is excited with the fresh and diverse array: "It was significant to provide visitors with a comprehensive perspective on the success of each grape variety in various key growing regions. For instance, the ARRA Sweeties™ from India, Brazil and South Africa were equally alluring and all provided an impressive eating experience".

She continues to express her viewpoint on the red varieties, noting: "There appears to be a divide among those who have gotten to know ARRA Fire Crunch and ARRA Cherry Crush regarding which one is the ultimate red. However, we conveyed to them that there's no need to make a definitive choice. Producers, traders, and retailers can opt to embrace the benefits of both varieties."

For those who missed tasting the latest from Grapa in Berlin, the next opportunity to see the full range of ARRA varieties will be during the field days in California that will be held during the weeks of July 8th and August 19th, 2024.
