BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions has expanded the Cimegra insecticide label for foliar use on potatoes to control Colorado potato beetles.
Chris Vander Kant, BASF Canada’s corn, soybeans and horticultural crop manager, said providing growers with an alternative integrated pest management strategy option was necessary because the pest is showing resistance to current market insecticide groups.
In addition to foliar use in potatoes, the label expansion includes increased foliar use for a vast number of horticultural products, including leafy vegetables, leaf petiole vegetables, brassica head and stem vegetables to control diamondback moth, cabbage looper, imported cabbage worm and flea beetles and red-headed flea beetles.
