Between December and June , the Regional Product Fairs held by the State Government's Sustainable Development Agency (ADS) are supplied with two exotic fruits: rambutan and pitaya. In the metropolitan region, more than a ton of products are sold per week. According to the Head of the ADS Agricultural and Fishing Business Department, Edson Luniere, consumers can find the fruit at all fairs in the capital.
The ADS fairs in Manaus run from Tuesday to Sunday in nine locations in the urban area and one fair in the rural zone, in addition to 35 municipalities in the interior with a wide variety of regional products, such as fruits, vegetables and greens. The food leaves the farmers' plantations and goes straight to the Amazonian people's tables, without the presence of an intermediary, which can reduce costs.
