Sirha Lyon (France, January 19-23, 2023) is a five-say event dedicated to the food service world with exchanges of good practices and innovative ideas - the expression of a world that is constantly changing. “The fair started off slowly due to the snow and transport problems, but things livened up already from the second day. Even though it is a well-known fact that the French tend to be historically nationalists, visitors were curious about Italian products and were happy to approach a brand that communicates a system of values and service where appearance and substance go hand in hand," explains Stefania Montali, marketing manager and owner of Industrie Montali.
Industrie Montali is a company from Emilia with a history of over 100 years and which has managed to intercept consumer needs anticipating the changes in lifestyle and food consumption trends especially over the past twenty years. From processing tomato waste, the company moved on to single-dose ready-to-eat sauces and pâtés in tubes.
At Sirha Lyon, Industrie Montali showcased the entire range. The most popular products are the sauces and the new Chef line. The sauces include Sweet and Sour with Onion, Cocktail, Barbecue and Ketchup, and they are available in tubes and single-dose sachets. The ketchup is the second most popular in some Eastern European countries after mayonnaise and is the leading product in the company product range.
The Chef line is made up of thick tube pastes with a high concentration of raw material, available in the following versions: onion, capers, garlic, soffritto and double concentrated tomato. The products are appealing and boast an original packaging as they are sold in 90 gram tubes. They are easy to use and suitable to add flavor to sauces, meat dishes or a first course. They are not a threat to traditional cuisine, but rather a valid help to cook a simple yet flavorful pasta dish even out of season.
“Sirha Lyon led to interesting contacts that we will need to develop and strengthen. Potential buyers from France and many other European countries visited our stand, in addition to operators from the Arab Emirates and Asia. I would say this is one of the leading fairs when it comes to the catering and hospitality business and represents the expression of a sector that is increasingly committed to the green revolution underway. According to the first Sirha Food study, conducted in September 2022 among over 200 French professionals, over 86% of operators are working on an initiative dealing with eco-responsible transition (100% of producers, 79% of restaurateurs and 78% of suppliers, distributors and digital operators)."
