Clarifruit to introduce the world’s first automatic defect identification software in Berlin

Clarifruit will proudly share brand-new features of its AI-driven Quality Control (QC) platform, the world’s first automatic fresh produce quality control app and software solution. Clarifruit's goal is to empower the entire fresh produce value chain, from growers and marketing companies to wholesalers and retailers, with a standardised language and the objective data to make smart business decisions that maximize profitability and reduce waste.

Clarifruit's software simplifies the inspection process with three steps: entering information, capturing a photo, and adding internal attributes info. Inspectors begin by launching the mobile app, scanning the barcode, and providing the necessary admin details. They then take a photo of the produce, which is analyzed by the AI for external characteristics such as size and color. Inspectors can also add defect info as well as wirelessly integrate to 3rd party devices to transmit info about internal attributes like brix or firmness. The results of the inspection can be accessed using the app or web application, presenting a comprehensive QC report with a data-driven dashboard to match real-world quality with the appropriate customers and buyers.

“At Fruit Logistica, we will be presenting a live demo of technology that is a first in the world of automatic defect detection. We have been working behind the scenes to expand the platform’s capabilities and make the entire quality control process completely objective, by automating the analysis of the most critical inspection component - defect identification,” said Elad Mardix, CEO of Clarifruit.

  • Additional new features being showcased include:
Supplier performance evaluation: Access advanced reports to get granular about supplier performance, and export this data using an API or to Excel to slice and dice information using external Business Intelligence tools.
  • Advanced filtering capabilities: Create your own report based on custom filters, giving ultimate accessibility for QC managers in viewing exactly the right information. Schedule this to be sent on-demand, or at a regular cadence.
  • Four types of inspections: Utilize Simple, Batch, Container or Overtime inspections to analyze produce at a deeper level according to specific use cases. Overtime and Container processes  are unique to the industry, offering unprecedented accuracy and visibility.
