Egyptian vegetable exports to Europe are slow at the beginning of the year, but exporters expect demand to pick up in March, said Mr. Reda Mohamed, general manager of Grand Egypt Agro. According to Mr. Reda, this is due to global inflation which has disrupted consumer behavior.
The exporter added: "On the other hand, our markets in East Asia and America are doing well. We plan to strengthen our presence in the European market and improve our brand there". Grand Egypt Agro produces a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the year, serving several types of customers: importers, wholesalers, supermarket chains, caterers and processing industry.
Grand Egypt Agro distinguishes itself from the competition by its proficiency in the logistics area, explains Mr. Reda: "We offer distribution and logistics services through our own logistics department with an experienced team. We manage our own shipments, by road, sea or air. We're ISO: 2005/22000 and Global Gap certified."
The company exports citrus fruits, orange, lemon, tangerine, several varieties of onions and garlic, artichoke, strawberry, sweet potato, and herbs such as lettuce, coriander, basil and mint.
