It’s an exciting time for Turkish packaging manufacturer Aypek, as they’ve launched a new bag for cherries, Andrés Rodríguez says: “We’re launching our new diamond modified atmosphere cherries bag, which keeps the cherries for 60 days, which is great for the long transit times from Latin America to Asia. We think this type of packaging will be most interesting for the Chilean market, as they have very large production and focus mostly on the market in China.”
With Christmas coming up, there haven’t been any specific demand from the clients, but Rodríguez does encourage traders to get their schedule in order in time, to avoid any delays during this hectic period.
“We haven’t seen any specific requirements in regards to the Christmas season. That said, it can be a challenging time, as transport becomes very complicated for all the exporters. We therefore recommend traders to get everything sorted in time, to ensure avoiding any delays on deliveries. However, when there are delays, the modified atmosphere bags of Lifepack give exporters the best chance to preserve the fruits and vegetables, as well as keeping the produce hydrated until the shipment reaches its destination.”
