Australian avocado company, The Avolution, supplies and markets avocados year-round. The company has growers in all growing regions in Australia.
"There are two grower owners and we market for another 120 growers across Australia," said CEO Anthony Allen. "Our volumes continue to grow and next year we will increase the volumes we have produced this year."
The Avolution produces around 3 million trays or 16,500 tonnes of avocados.
"Approximately 9% of the total Australian crop is exported, but The Avolution is the largest Australian avocado export and we export at least 20% of our crop, the rest goes into the domestic market."
The Avolution's main export markets are Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, and they are looking at new markets such as India, the Middle East and Japan.
"The large production in Australia has made us focus more on export," explains Anthony. " We have been exporting for the last 10 years but the production has driven us to build exports much further, we always knew it was coming. We went from zero containers and all air freight to 100 plus containers in 12 months, and still a similar volume to normal via air freight. Which is why The Avolution is the largest avocado exporter in Australia."
The Avolution will be on the Horticulture Innovation Australia stand at Asia Fruit Logistica.
