Little Potato Company starts new Nisku facility

The Little Potato Company and Leduc County representatives have celebrated the start of construction on a more than 200,000 sq. ft. packaging facility and head office. It is an investment of upwards of $25 million that will allow the local family business to expand the production of its renowned creamer potatoes. the groundbreaking ceremony was held June 28.

“This is a significant step for The Little Potato Company, which my Dad and I founded together in Edmonton more than 25 years ago,” said Angela Santiago, CEO of The Little Potato Company. “With the incredible support of our community, we are honored to continue to grow our business here and provide a fresh, nutritious food to families across North America.”

The state-of-the-art potato packaging facility in Leduc County will replace the current plant in Edmonton. It will allow the company to offer a wider variety of products and utilize the latest technology to ensure the highest quality of potatoes. Construction of the facility is expected to be complete early next year, with operations scheduled to begin in May 2023.
