The Ceballos agro-industrial company says it is suffering the effects of fuel shortages, which is thwarting their mango harvest campaign. The company that manufactures preserves from products from the Cuban countryside recently stated: “Serious limitations with resources, fundamentally with fuel, have hindered the current mango campaign.”
Despite the scarcity of gas and the other “limitations” of unidentified resources, the company stated that it “does not stop looking for solutions and so far it has harvested more than 1,000 tons of the fruit”.
Osvadys Estrada Rodriguez, director of the Technical-Productive area, indicated that the company’s objective for this year is to reach 19,500 tons of processed fruit. In addition, they intend to plant some 4,800 hectares, of which 565 will be mainly mango, guava, papaya and pineapple.
