With the Interpoma Award, the Bolzano fair intends to grant recognition to those companies that present innovations for water management in apple orchards. Interpoma Award 2022 will reward those technologies that, thanks to an innovative component, lead to progress in the management of water in apple orchards, combining water saving with improved yields and fruit quality. The award features two categories: one for companies and individuals and one for start-ups.
An expert jury will select and judge the technologies. Participants will be assessed based on the products or services entered (e.g. machinery, systems, components, technological devices) and on the documents and questionnaire presented.

“Sustainability in agriculture is a challenge that engages the whole world and we want to do our part too. Of course water is needed to produce apples but, today, technology can optimize water consumption with solutions that could turn the Italian apple sector into a leader in this field," commented Thomas Mur, director of Fiera Bolzano.

Two awards will be assigned: one to companies or individuals and one to start-ups. In both cases, the products or services entered, such as machinery, systems, components and devices, will be assessed.
A jury made up of university professors, researchers and international experts will assess the technology. The information and data presented will be examined first to select a short list of candidates, then the winner of each category will be chosen. The jury also has the opportunity of making 4 special mentions, two for each category.
A moment during the 2018 event
The winners will be announced during the Interpoma pre-inauguration evening on Wednesday November 16th,2022. Both winners will receive a "communication package" award worth €5,000. To enter, send your application in English to interpoma@fieramesse.com by September 30th, 2022.
