"Shelf-life extension technology keeps crops fresh for longer"

More and more southern hemisphere fruits are entering the Asian market, such as Chilean cherry nectarines, Peruvian blueberries, Ecuadorian dragon fruits, Brazilian mangoes and Mexican avocados, etc. With the arrival of the harvest season in the southern hemisphere, consumer demand for southern hemisphere fruit is increasing. However, due to obstacles during the Covid-19 pandemic, fruit shipment may take 1-2 months to reach the destination market. It is beneficial for fruit retail and waste reduction if product freshness can be extended and the ripening process can be delayed during the long and slow voyage. PlanFresh successfully achieves this goal.

Cathy is the manager of Chesen the 1-MCP provider company in China. She introduced the company’s PlanFresh technology.

“PlanFresh postharvest solution is a 1-MCP-based fruit, vegetable and flower preservation technology. It can be used in large cold storages, shipping containers, packing boxes and other spaces of different sizes, mainly to help some crops that need long-distance transportation and storage. During transportation and storage, it is not affected by ethylene ripening, reduces crop respiration, delays ripening and aging, preserving the freshness of crops and preserving fruit firmness, make a huge contribution to the effort to reduce food waste. At present, 1-MCP is a new type of fresh-keeping substance with the best effect, and has been widely used in the preservation of fruits, vegetables and flowers.”

“Excitingly, for the upcoming Valentine's Day, we can provide flower dealers with great looking preservation cards. PlanFresh card is naturally activated by the crop inside the package and can be designed with different size and draw. PlanFresh card is extremely convenient for the transportation of the product itself due to its paper-like thickness. To maximize the effectiveness of the PlanFresh card, use the solution immediately after crop harvest. The card can be used again in the supply chain when the crop transport takes too long. Especially it is convenient for flower preservation, protecting flowers from damage caused by ethylene, the best solution to maintain flower quality during transportation.”

“Crop growers, packers, shippers, retailers and consumers can all benefit from PlanFresh solution. After PlanFresh treatment, crops are fresh and safe without any traceable residues.”

The Chesen products are for sale in China. “The company team works hard to stand out in the market for agricultural chemicals and actively promotes the registration of their products in other countries. We are currently looking for strategic partners with an interest in acting as distribution agent for PlanFresh and other agricultural chemical products.” Cathy said.
