What started out as a pilot project for the Fruit Market International team in 2020 has developed into a genuine corporate philosophy: 100% Organic Fruit & Vegetables, 100% Fair and 100% Climate Neutral - after an electrifying first year, these core values form a solid foundation for "Fair by Nature España SL".
"Over the years, we've seen the organic market gaining ground. The fact that an increasing number of growers are switching to organic farming is good for both humans and the environment. We're convinced that reducing ecological footprints is key to a sustainable future," according to Peter Bouman of FMI BV.
Fair by Nature originated as an idea. In June 2020, however, this idea became reality when Juan Antonio Ferre joined the FMI team in Spain. Juan's years of experience in the Organic sector soon set the ball rolling. FMI developed a great brand - as a private label of FMI - which Juan used to start marketing organic products all over Europe. Subsequently, the Fair by Nature team was further reinforced in October of this year with the arrival of Frank de Graaff, operating from the Netherlands. All in all, these developments meant that it was high time for Fair by Nature to operate independently, and today this has finally become a reality.
Which is why Fair by Nature is proud to announce that all the work of the past few months has paid off with it being awarded its very own organic certification! With this, nothing can stand in the way of the company making further great strides so that more and more customers in Europe can become acquainted with the best organic fruit and vegetables.
With Juan 'El Señor FbN' in Alicante and Frank as the experienced 'Mr Organic' in Barendrecht, the existing basic range will be expanded in 2022 with new products that meet the wishes of customers and the quality standards of Fair by Nature. The Fair by Nature team firmly believes in a personal approach and close working relationship with growers. We also have faith in a healthy and fair business model. That's why almost all our farmers possess social certification, too, such as GRASP and Smeta, and they grow their products with love - after all, 'it's in their Nature!
Juan said on 100% Climate neutral: "Although it isn't common knowledge yet, the reason why we're so enthusiastic about our concept is that we compensate for any CO2 emissions involved in the transport of our organic fruit and vegetables from source to destination. Only last year, we worked with CeroCO2.org and Fundación Amigos de las Abejas, certified projects that promote organic farming and maintain bee populations. And this season, for example, we were in a position to support more than 555,000 bees thanks to our offset scheme.”
In this way, we're trying to do our bit for a positive future and to be "Fair to Nature".
