Hazel Technologies Inc., a USDA-supported technology company delivering new solutions for fresh produce to extend shelf-life, increase sales and combat food waste, announces Matt Duerr has joined the company as director of AgTech sales.
Duerr joins Hazel after holding various sales roles during his 14-year tenure with CHEP. Most recently Duerr helped lead Chep’s inside sales team in Orlando, FL working with more than 3,000 customers in the United States. While at CHEP, Duerr spent five years partnering with grower-packer-shippers in the Southeast to fill their supply chain needs.
As Hazel’s director of AgTech sales, Duerr will lead the Hazel AgTech sales team across several key growing areas in the U.S. To date Hazel has partnered with more than 160 grower-packer-shippers across 12 countries as a pre- and postharvest technology provider.
Founded in 2015, Hazel’s technology is academically validated, USDA-funded and easy to use. Hazel sachets are placed in boxes of bulk produce by commercial growers at the time of harvest, extending the shelf-life of produce up to three times by slowing aging in produce and preventing decay.
