Christine Cortes, BioTropic:

“Good start of campaign for the Nadorcott mandarins”

The Nadorcott mandarin campaign has just started at BioTropic. According to Christine Cortes, France Export sales representative, the campaign is going quite well so far. “The volumes are satisfactory, and the demand is good. We have loyal clients and we continue to establish ourselves on the international markets.” BioTropic distributes its Nadorcott mandarins exclusively in Europe.

The biggest challenge at the moment is related to logistics. “In northern Europe, we are currently faced with weather difficulties that complicate transportation. But generally speaking, we are optimistic for this campaign.”

Quality
Odile Bouron, head of the French office of BioTropic, is very pleased with the quality of the Nadorcott mandarins this year. “They’ve developed a beautiful color thanks to favorable weather conditions. This year, the fruit will also be bigger. The branches were sometimes heavily loaded, so they were supported, as a precautionary measure to prevent them from breaking.”

Origin
Christine adds that all price ranges are present on the market. “We promote our Nadorcott mandarins by emphasizing that the true land of origin of this mandarin is Morocco, near Marrakech, and it is precisely where our mandarins are grown. They are perfectly adapted to the climate and conditions of this soil.”

The fruits grow in the organic orchard of Soumia Lomri and Emile Grac. Between the port of Essaouira and Marrakech, their 100 hectares of orchards are reserved for the cultivation of organic mandarins, oranges and figs.

Emile Grac also takes care of a friend’s small plantation of organic lemons. At the moment, we are also marketing yellow, sun-drenched fruit, of the Eureka variety. Soumia and Emile plan to add more fruit to their own garden of Eden: organic apricots, peaches and grapes.
