US apple stocks 13.1% lower compared with same time last year

The January 2021 edition of the US Apple Association's Market News  is now available. This is the third report on the 2020 apple crop According to the survey, this year's fresh apple holdings on January 1, 2021, totaled 90.3 million bushels, 13.1 percent less than the inventories reported for January 1 of last year. Processing holdings totaled 41.6 million bushels, 3.7 percent more than last year on January 1. The total number of apples in storage on January 1, 2021, was 131.9 million bushels, 8.4 percent less than last January's total of 144.0 million bushels and 4.1 percent below the 5-year average for that date.
