The new warehouse located in Grosseto, is now a reference point also for the producers of fruit and vegetables of the Maremma region. Organic references such as netted melons, mini watermelons, blueberries, carrots, cucumbers, table tomatoes (both dates and smooth round) and zucchini, are being made for the Italian supermarket chains, for a total volume of about 2000 tons.

"Despite the rather fickle climate, this year - said Salvatore Scarcella, president of the company - the production is good and we are glad to be a reference point for Tuscan producers. We have implemented an all-Sicilian model in the management of this new experience, which is very much appreciated by the Maremma producers, to the point that we are appreciated throughout the whole territory. Such a success is due to our ability to interact with each and every one of our partners and producers. After all, the farmer's language is universal, isn't it?"

Nevertheless, the company remains strongly attached to its origins and continues its production of fine citrus fruits in the province of Messina. In 2019, among lemons and oranges, Società Agricola C.A.I. commercialized about 18 thousand tons of goods.

"We are at the end of the so-called bianchetto lemon season, and we are about to harvest the verdello - continued Scarcella - This year we have a very considerable production, with a higher quantity than the previous year, which was 1500 tons in total. We hope that the climate remains optimal and that the ripening continues to progress smoothly, so that we can satisfy our customers in the best possible way. The green lemon campaign will end around mid-September."

"Last year, the production and commercial campaign of the verdello was good - concluded the president - because we recorded average prices of more than 2 euro per kg. For 2020, we expect a similar season, if not better, compared to last year's wholesale prices."
