Over the next two months, customers in 35 Irma stores will have the opportunity to experience vertical farming. The Danish supermarket has entered into an agreement with the German specialist in vertical farming, Infarm.
Since the end of November, Irma has been the first in Denmark to test the concept in the chain's store at Østerport. The new herbs were so popular with consumers that Irma is now rolling it out in stores all over Greater Copenhagen.
Over the next two months, Irma and Infarm will open branches in 35 different stores. It takes about three weeks from the herbs being planted to be ready for sale.
