According to the United Nation's Food and Agricultural Organization, 75,866 km2 of the world is earmarked for grapes. That is almost the size of the Czech Republic. About 71% of the grapes grown worldwide are used to produce wine. Twenty-seven percent are eaten fresh, and two percent are dried. Some grapes are used for making grape juice.
