"The current export price is stable"

"The Chinese pear industry optimized plantation systems this production season"

"The harvest season of fresh Chinese pears began in July, 2019. We expect the supply season to last until April or May in 2020. Looking at the overall conditions in comparison with last year we can say that the texture and the sweetness of fresh pears is much better this year. These pears are also better able to endure storage. The higher quality of our pears is on the one hand a result of stable weather conditions last year and on the other hand a consequence of continued improvement in our management of plantation technology." This is according to  Gavin of Hebei Jinzhou Great Wall Trade Co., Ltd.

"The sales of fresh pears slowed down last month. More recently, however, as the Chinese Spring Festival [25 January, 2020] is approaching, the sales volume is growing again. Market supply is currently unable to meet demand. However, looking at the overall sales conditions in the pear market, this year is still slower than last year."

"The main reason for this difference is that on the one hand, other fruits such as oranges compete with fresh pears in the domestic fruit market. This competition puts pressure on the price of pears and limits the profit margin. On the other hand, fresh pear exports to countries in Southeast Asia slowed down. Southeast Asia is the main export market for many Chinese pear companies. However, conditions are not quite the same for us. We mainly export our pears to the United States, Mexico, Chile, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Russia. The overall impact of these market developments on our operations is therefore limited."

"This season the production volume is more or less the same as last season. The overall production volume of Imperial Crown pears expanded, but the production volume of Chinese white pears declined. Apart from this, the overall quality of the pear plantation system improved. The production volumes of old product varieties are reduced and at the same time, the production volumes of Autumn Moon pears and New Pear Number 7 increased. This shift is the result of market preferences for new pear varieties."

"The price of Chinese pears just continued to rise around this time last year. However, at the moment, the price of our pears is relatively stable because the supply volume in storage is more than sufficient and the price of pears in the domestic fruit market is relatively low. The pear market has not experienced major price fluctuations this season. We aim to provide top-quality food products with attention to food safety. We work hard to keep improving the quality of our pears. We pay particular attention to keep pesticide residue at a minimum. This will help us increase pear export to the European market.

We will also be present at the Berlin Fruit Logistica on February 5-7. We hope to see old clients and new partners to discuss commercial opportunities. All visitors are welcome at our stand in Hall 5.2 at booth C-11."
