Eco-friendly machines that increase productivity to be showcased

At Fruit Logistica Packaging Automation will be demonstrate a high speed Revolution machine, incorporating the latest robotic technology this tray sealing machine is designed to deliver significant increases in productivity, efficiency and performance. This operates without using any compressed air ensuring a machine that is friendly to the environment.

All of PA’s machines are designed with the demands of the fresh produce sector in mind, which generally requires high volume, high speed packing. The machines can easily accommodate eco-friendly packaging such as fully recyclable and compostable packaging solutions, which is key in the current market. Tray sealing also offers an environmental and economic advantage over clam shell packs or trays with clip on lids by reducing the total amount and weight of packaging and associated transport costs and carbon footprint.

PA is fully committed to supporting producers and packers to reduce the amount of packaging material required, to reduce their impact on the environment, whilst still benefitting from the advantages of packaging such as extended shelf life and improved product presentation and protection.

Also on display will be the recently launched range of MiWeigh productivity improvement solutions for packaging operations incorporating weighing and material handling technology. With the goal of maximizing productivity they monitor operator performance and provide a real time visual management tool to aid decision making to improve pack consistency with a clear return on investment.

Multiple weigh scales on a single line are directly controlled through a central master screen that provides extensive live data enabling you to get a true picture from your packing process and pin point any areas for improvement. Operator performance and product giveaway can be tracked and KPIs set. Visual factory screens are available to bolt onto the system to show live performance to the operator’s whilst in production. Optionally, the MiWeigh scales and system can be linked to and be controlled by the tray sealer.

The PA team can also discuss bespoke high speed punnet feeding line and product flow management projects which are undertaken to improve pack house efficiencies. These include systems to handle, convey and weigh boxes or crates with pre-filled punnets to allow verification of the box bulk weight. Inspection conveyors allow operators to carry out quality control of the produce prior to high speed single or twin lane heat sealing. Pack weights can be checked using individual MiWeigh station scales and once boxes or crates are empty they are automatically taken away to an auto boxer by a secondary material handling system.

If you would like to reduce production costs, improve process efficiency and reliability then come and challenge the PA team to advise and support and share their knowledge and experience.
