2019 was the year of the citrus fruit campaign for Donnalia

A good product performance is guaranteed only through a sustainable approach

"Quality, value, respect for the environment and for the consumers are the elements we focus on every day in our work, by implementing all the information we receive from our customers", stated Vincenzo and Angelo Dipasquale, creators of the Sicilian brand Donnalia, which is proving to be very popular in the Italian and European fruit and vegetable markets.

Our farm is deeply rooted in traditions and it represents a typical example of an agriculture based on and devoted to rural values and that recently has made an important breakthrough by investing also in marketing, supported by the generational turnover.

"Keeping up with the times means not only embracing the essential principles of marketing - continued Vincenzo - but giving a deeper meaning to our work, from certifications to environmental sustainability. We invested in technology and introduced innovative labels that contain extended useful information on the product, and on the best way to enjoy it. At the same time, we also communicate our brand through the barcode and the QR code. Traceability and tracking represent a top priority for us when it comes to guaranteeing our products.

"We were probably among the first companies in Italy that introduced plastic free packaging - added Angelo - being ahead of our time. These decisions represent always important investments, but the return on brand investment is excellent. Moreover, we are proud of our choices and of our contribution to the environment, because that's where the future lies if we want to continue producing good food".

"In 2019 our company marketed about 600 tons of apricots, 2000 tons of peaches and nectarines and 1500 tons of grapes - concluded the entrepreneur. After a satisfying season in terms of production and trade for the stone fruit, we too have suffered the price crisis that affected the grape market. Fortunately, this last reference is not our core business and losses have been limited. On the other hand, the blond oranges season started a few weeks ago followed by blood oranges, which are expected to perform well, even if the calibers are quite medium. From next year we expect an increase in volumes to be achieved through new partnerships ".
