The European banana harvest this year will be 622,000 tonnes. The average price per kilo will be 82 eurocents.
Figures from the European Commission show that the import of Latin American bananas into Europe in August amounted to a volume of 350,000 tons. From the ACP countries, Europe imported more than 80,000 tonnes of bananas that month.
