Remco Tielen starts Growers and More's retail division

"We are well on our way to meeting our clients demands for year-round exotics"

Remco Tielen started as Growers and More's Account Manager this week. This firm is based in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands. Remco began his career in the frozen goods industry. He worked at Iglo, HAK, and John West Foods.

In recent years, he was employed in the fruit and vegetable sector. He filled positions at Olympic Fruit and Total Exotics. Growers and More was founded in 2017. Here, Remco faces the challenge of setting up a retail division.

"This company was born out of a passion for our profession. We work together with producers. This appeals enormously to me. We are a true trading office for European suppliers," says Remco. "Our goal is to, from Ridderkerk, bring overseas growers closer to the market. We want them to be able to supply European clients with a service-orientated approach."

"Hennie van Es and Ate Kalsbeek are already doing that in the European wholesale sector. It is now my job to introduce Growers and More and Growers and More Organics to European retailers. We are hard at work, meeting clients' demand for year-round exotics. I hope my experience in the retail sector will contribute to this," adds the Account Manager.

"Our core products are mangos, avocados, and limes. Besides these, the Growers and More group's Organics branch focuses on organic products. These include mangos, avocados, limes, ginger, and turmeric."

"We can also give clients added value with our ripening and packaging activities. For example, we can respond to supermarkets' demands for sustainable packaging and less plastic. We can do this with our recycled packaging," concludes Remco.
