With the low supply of tahiti lime in São Paulo State, quotes reached 90 BRL per 27-kilo box in the in natura market in September. The few fruits still available have lower quality and are yellowish (due to the hot and dry weather along the month) or have not reached the ideal size and maturation to be harvested. Besides, rains hit tahiti lime producing regions in late September, hampering fieldwork.
Between September 1 and 30, tahiti lime quotes averaged 62.73 BRL per 27-kilo box, harvested, a staggering 108.9% up compared to that in August and the highest monthly average in 2019.
The demand for in natura oranges was firm in September, mainly for lower quality varieties. As for supply, the dry and hot weather in São Paulo during the month reduced the availability of the fruits in the standards desired for this segment (most of them were wilted and small). In this scenario, pear orange quotes averaged 19.61 BRL per 40.8-kilo box, on tree, in September, 7.4% up compared to that in August.
