Babson Blaine grows apples, pears and cherries in the Hood River Valley and the Mid-Columbia with her husband and daughter. This makes them the third and fourth generation to raise apples in that area of Mid-Columbia.
And although the Blaines are not the only Northwest fruit farmers who feel like collateral damage in the president’s dealings with China and other countries, Babson took the time to write an opinion piece, voicing her dismay relating to President Trumps politics and the effects these have on US growers.
