New GlobalGAP jujubes snack

There are smaller quantities but excellent quality for the jujubes snacks made by Fellini Patrizio company. The product has received the GlobalGAP certificate this year. It’s a great time for these professionally grown jujubes in 250-gram packets and as a consequence of this overwhelming success, the company is planning 5000 more plants in the near future.

The quantity of jujubes produced was smaller than in 2018, due to the weather and to other adversities. Nonetheless the quality of the product is good and this bodes well for a campaign that is running until November.

Fellini - In the light of the positive results of the last few seasons, we have decided to add new plantings of jujubes in order to satisfy the growing demand. Firstly, we choose varieties which have an excellent, very sweet taste. Secondly, we consider the size.

The jujubes, as well as many other kinds of fruit, are produced by Azienda Agricola 67#, owned by Fellini, with almost 100 cultivated hectares. The jujubes keeps very well because the harvest takes place in at least 6 cuts, so as to pack, from time to time, only the fruits that have ripened.

In many areas, and for a long time, the cultivation of the jujube remained marginal. It was considered almost a hobby. With Fellini Patrizio company it has turned into a professional product. It is offered on a regular bases in a practical snack packaging. And the results are proving Fellini right, as the offer has gone on evenly for over two months.

To obtain a product of the desired quality and size, the agronomists of the company have grown plants with fertigation systems. Such fertilization must be punctual and considered in the crucial moments. Mechanical weeding is carried out on the row, while grassing and mowing are carried out between the rows.

The packaging chosen is nothing more than a plastic cup. The snack is included in the Gli sfizi line, part of the larger Freschissimi family owned by the Fellini Patrizio company. The consumer likes this type of snack, because it is practical and it can be eaten whenever you get a bit hungry during the day. Not surprisingly, the demand is growing steadily and the good production of 2018 will likely create a new record of sales for the Italian company.
