"Banana prices in China picked up"

“After remaining at low levels for a few years, banana prices finally picked up this year. Prices in various production areas have been rising since the start of the year, and trade has been going smoothly. Currently, the market, in general, is quite stable.” Mr. Hu, a banana grower, and distributor commented.

“Better market conditions were partly brought about by relatively stable weather conditions in the main production areas this year, which has led to good overall quality. On the other hand, many growers have reduced their planting acreages or switched to other crops seeing persistent low prices in the previous years brought by excessive production, which has led the total supply fall."

Bagged bananas

“Compared with the previous period, price increases in recent weeks have been smaller. This is because prices have reached a certain high level, while there is still some pressure from the shipment volume. However, with the arrival of the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival, consumer demand is expected to pick up again, which will benefit sales."
