Wisconsin is nation's top cranberry grower for 25th year

About 5.6 million barrels of fruit will be harvested in Wisconsin this fall, making this the 25th year that Wisconsin is leading in cranberry production. This was stated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service.

According to officials the cranberry industry in Wisconsin generates one billion USD in economic impact of the state and provides thousands of jobs in the area.

Nationwide it is expected that approximately 9 million barrels of cranberries will be harvested this season, which is one per cent up from last year.
